2011 Chevrolet Volt

Volt is an electric car that can create its own electricity. Plug it in, let it charge overnight, and it’s ready to run on a pure electric charge for up to 40 miles — gas and emissions free. After that, Volt keeps going, even if you can’t plug it in. Volt uses a range-extending gas generator that produces enough energy to power it for hundreds of miles on a single tank of gas.

Not only should Cruze finally give GM a credible rival to the dominant Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, it's also a perfect example of why gas engines aren't yet headed for the retirement home. Cruze's engine is a 1.4-liter four-cylinder – the smallest in any GM car in North America. It is fitted with a turbocharger to boost power to the level of a bigger engine, yet still be rated 37 miles per gallon on the highway.

Chevrolet recently began the production of the Camaro Synergy Special Edition with pricing starting at $26,790. Synergy will be produced in limited quantities from February to May. The 2010 Camaro Synergy Special Edition is based on a Camaro 1LT, with a 3.6L direct injection V-6, paired with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The powertrain has become a benchmark for the segment by offering a combination of performance and efficiency: The V-6 delivers 304 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque, and returns up to 29 mpg on the highway.

The Special Edition also includes the Camaro Convenience and Connectivity Package, with Bluetooth phone connectivity, USB port for MP3 players, and remote vehicle start for models equipped with an automatic transmission.
