Generally speaking, the charge time is the approximation of a full charge when using AC home charging. The maximum output of the power source and battery temperature are among several factors when determining the rate of charge for your Chevrolet EV.
DC Fast Charging
The fastest and most high-powered method of recharging the battery of an electric vehicle. DC Fast Charging is available for Chevrolet EV models, such as the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV, and can charge your battery up to 100 miles of range in about 30 minutes.
KWH (Kilowatt Hour)
A unit used to measure how much energy is transferred or disbursed in one hour by one kilowatt of power. The size of an electric car battery is also measured in kilowatt hours. Miles per kWh for an EV is equivalent to mpg for a combustion engine vehicle.
Level 1 Charging
Most of our Chevrolet EV models at LaFontaine Chevrolet Dexter come with a Level 1 charging cord that can be plugged into any 120V wall outlet. If a Level 2 unit is not available, Level 1 charging is comparable for convenient and efficient charging at home or on-the-go when traveling.
The current standard for electric car batteries, known for being a reliable energy source, and giving density, power, and fast charging capability. Typically, these batteries can remain about 80 percent effective even after their lifetime has been surpassed.
An energy recovery mechanism that stores kinetic energy while braking, which then be reclaimed, stored, and reused. Many Chevrolet EV models utilize regenerative braking.
