As a Chevy dealer near Ypsilanti, we get to witness the turning of the seasons in eastern Michigan. Spring, in particular, is a beautiful season with flowers blooming, warm days, and cool, often rainy nights. Autumn is another stunning time of year in our state, when trees are decked out in red, orange, yellow, and gold, framing the soft blues of Lake Michigan. Both of these seasons are put into motion through equinoxes, but there’s one kind of equinox that is always in season: the Chevy Equinox.

The 2025 Chevy Equinox is starting a new season of its own, launching the model’s fourth generation. One thing that’s not just a single season is the style, capability, and safety of this compact SUV. Whether it’s summertime trips to Lake Michigan or winter’s snowy roads, the Equinox is an excellent choice for the entire calendar year.

Superior Performance and Capability

The Equinox is propelled by a 1.5L Turbo engine that puts out a solid 175 hp, well suited for the demands that it faces from the climate of eastern Michigan. The available all-wheel drive makes it a great choice for traveling in winter weather or out in the country on muddy dirt roads. With a towing capacity of 1,500 lbs, you can easily bring your jet skis, snowmobiles, and canoes along on your adventures in the breathtaking woods and lakes around Ypsilanti.

A generous 63.5 cu.ft. of cargo space gives you plenty of room for everything you need for vacations, weekend trips to Lake Michigan, tailgating, school carpools, and commuting to work. The center console has plenty of room for keeping the smaller items you need close at hand. This expanded center console also has an optional wireless smartphone charger. There’s plenty of room for storage in the Equinox, but who wants to carry extra cords?

Redesigned for a New Generation

The 2025 Equinox will kick off the fourth generation of the compact SUV. New beginnings are a great excuse for a makeover. Chevy seized this opportunity, redesigning the exterior and interior to give this newest iteration of their popular compact SUV a bold start.

Rugged and robust, with a proud front end that sports a grille and front fascia specific to each trim, the exterior of the Equinox demands to be seen. The body style sings praises to durability but also has a few gentle notes of gracefulness. The slightly rounded back end is accentuated with tail lamps that curve gently with the flow of the frame.

The interior is spacious and contemporary, with different accent colors available for each trim package. Backseat passengers will have plenty of legroom, and the center console nestled between the front seats offers additional storage space plus two cup holders. Wide windows allow you to take in the sights, whether it’s Lake Michigan, the LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve, or the historic buildings of our state’s capital. No matter where you go, the Equinox will get you there in style and comfort.

Three Exciting Trims to Choose From

The Equinox will be available in three different trims for 2025. As of this writing, the MSRP for next year’s Equinox is not known. We also do not have the mileage estimates. There are, however, a lot of other exciting features that have already been revealed, and plenty more to look for in the coming months as 2025 draws closer.

The LT trim’s distinct front fascia and grille accent the muscular build of the Equinox. It has heated front seats and a steering wheel to keep you comfortable through all of the seasons. The 11.3-inch central touchscreen will keep all of your infotainment options just the press of a finger away, while the 11.0-inch driver information screen will keep you updated on everything you need to know when you’re behind the wheel.

With black mirrors, moldings, emblems, and badging, plus an available two-toned black roof, the RS trim makes quite an impression. The Torch Red and Santini Blue stitching on the Evotech seats are trim exclusive. These also bear the RS badging on the front seat head restraints. It comes standard with 19-inch wheels, with 20-inch wheels available. The flat-bottomed steering wheel is heated for an extra bit of comfort during the cold Ypsilanti winters.

The ACTIV trim will be the top tier of the three trims. ACTIV is stitched on the front headrests of the seats, which come covered in Evotech and microfiber suede for superior comfort. One feature that is very helpful for dealing with our Michigan winters is the all-terrain tires mounted on 17-inch machined wheels.

Roof rails can be used for additional storage if your need is greater than the generous cargo space inside the Equinox. An available white roof creates a two-tone effect with any of the trim’s six available exterior colors. With a suspension highly tuned for superior performance, the ACTIV trim is best at its namesake: being active.

For Your Entertainment

Music and driving go together like butter and toast. With Equinox’s 11.3-inch touchscreen, you can access all of your infotainment options as easily as the tap of a finger. You can use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay to access the music, podcasts, and news that you enjoy listening to the best. The Wi-Fi hotspot can also give you access to your favorite audio streaming service.

Google Built-In allows you to bring up Maps, which can guide you step-by-step when you’re venturing away from home and into the unknown. The 11.0-inch driver information center has digital gauges for easy reading, and this display can be reconfigured to your preferences.

Another piece of technology worth noting is Teen Driver mode. Having a brand new driver in the family can be stressful. Chevrolet wants to help make your Equinox the vehicle where your budding driver can learn safe driving habits that will last a lifetime. This tool allows you to set a speed alert, a speed limit, and a volume limit, along with other great features for keeping the newest driver in your family safe.

Safety First, Safety Always

One of the essential elements of a good vehicle is safety. Part of Chevrolet’s continuing commitment to excellence is equipping every new vehicle with Chevy Safety Assist. The six features that make up the package are designed to enhance the safety of your Equinox. This package is standard on all new Chevrolet models.

When seconds make the difference between a collision and a close call, additional help can be essential to walking away safely. Automatic Emergency Braking warns you of impending collisions and will engage the brakes if you do not have time to react. Working with the same mechanism, Front Pedestrian Braking alerts you of people in front of your Equinox and will engage the brake to prevent a pedestrian collision.

Another cause of collisions, especially on crowded highways, is lane drift. With Lane Departure Warning, you will receive a warning that you are drifting from your lane. If you do not correct the drift, Lane Keep Assist gives your Equinox a gentle nudge back between the lines. The Following Distance Indicator will remind you to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead of you. The final feature, IntelliBeam, takes the guesswork out of using the brightest setting on your headlamps, ensuring you are using the best setting for weather, speed, and traffic.
